Sudoku home - Walk me through a solve - Show me how the program works

Quick Start Guide

When you first run the Sudoku program, you will see the following screen:

opening screen

To start a puzzle, click one of the big buttons in the middle of the dialog box corresponding to the level of Sudoku puzzle you desire. The program will choose a puzzle at random from the desired level.

At that point, your job is to "SET" a digit in each of the empty cells of the puzzle.

There is also a row of buttons across the bottom of that screen. Here's what each button does:

About - Displays the program's about box including copyright message and program's version number.

History - Once you've completed some puzzles, you can view a history of your solves and some graphs relating to your performance. More...

Donate - Seriously, my games NEVER get donations. But, lucky for you, I write them for myself. And, since I'm such a nice guy, I share them with the world for free. That said, if you get some pleasure out of this program, why not buy me a cup of coffee? It would totally make my day.

Help - Clicking that button brings you here!

Pick - I usually just pick a random puzzle, but if you want to play a specific one, this function allows you to do just that.

Close - Closes the program when the boss walks in.

What's Next?

- Go to the Sudoku home page where you can download the program
- Teach me how to solve these interesting puzzles
- Show me what all the buttons on the main screen do
- Buy me a cup of coffee
